ADHD Coach Nate Hooper | California
About Nate
Nate received his ADHD diagnosis after having a miserable time in college. He could not understand how he could study so hard and achieve so little. Nate’s ADHD diagnosis freed him to explore other approaches to learning that were not in common with many of his neuro-typical classmates. After starting a medication regimen and relearning how to learn for an ADHD brain, Nate was able to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Business Entrepreneurship from CSUCI in Camarillo, CA. He rose from a D-F student to an A-B student. Graduating college for an ADHD student can be more difficult. Whereas 37-40% of US citizens (age 22+) have a 4-year degree, a much smaller percentage of people with diagnosed ADHD are able to obtain a
bachelor’s degree. Nate attributes part of his academic success to his understanding parents. His parents were willing and able to learn more about ADHD and how it affects Nate and his relationships with family and friends.
After owning two businesses, Nate found that his true passion is in coaching others with ADHD. He found out through business ownership that he really takes delight in working with people on a personal level and delivering high-value services to his clients. His key to developing great rapport with his clients is to understand the underlying reasons behind their motivations and inspiring them to live with authenticity.
Nate understands what it is like to live life on life’s terms with ADHD. Whether it be in the classroom or in the workplace, Nate has developed the necessary skills to flourish and is able to teach these skills to his clients. Nate has an understanding of the difficulties in maintaining focus on projects with multiple moving parts and dealing with goals exploring uncharted territory (like business startups).
Nate’s coaching style is a strengths-based approach. “Different strokes for different folks!” Nate says. The secret is to develop a strategy that is uniquely tailored to you, and it begins with understanding what you already have innately.
